Graffiti in an Alleyway

More from my adventures in the alleys. I have a question- recently I got a new computer, and as it was Vista now I am using a different image resizer. From my end, it looks as though this resizer is damaging the quality, but i am not positive. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good image resizer? I can always use Photoshop, but I would like to have a handy little program that resizes images quick and easily. Thanks to everyone who comments.

I agree, there's some kind of distortian being introduced around high-contrast lines. Maybe it's just jpg noise and you can adjust the quality settings?

Anyway you're probably aware there are plenty of free or inexpensive alternatives to Photoshop that will do a good job with simple stuff like crop/resize.

I've yet to come across anything better than "Save for Web & Devices" in Photoshop CS3, on a Mac. It gives you a lot of control and the ability to fine tune for quality & file size. My 2 Ozzie cents worth.

I use Photoshop so can't comment. Sounds great your adventure in back allies, places I have always enjoyed. I do, however, find most graffiti a form of vandalism rather than art.

@Michael Skorulski: I agree with you most of it is vandalism, but there i have always been fascinated specifically by the vandalism aspect of it. Legal forms of graffiti are murals,and to me do not often convey the same emotions as little scribbles in alleyways.

I like ACDC and plan to get ACDC Pro, which is about $65 from their website (my current version doesn't read NEF). I also just got a new computer with Vista and I can't say I like it much --Vista that is. If I wasn't so lazy I'd put on a new operating system.

Oh yeah, my Vista problem is that the NEF thumbnails are no longer visible from Photoshop when they're in the directory box --I have to select an image with the mouse or arrow keys to see thumbnails one at a time. I don't have this problem in XP.
